Desktop Support Engineer (Hedge Fund)

Job Description

We are looking for a mid-level Desktop Support Engineer to join a Top 10 Hedge Fund based in London.


  • Perform daily morning/evening checks
  • First point of contact for the IT Service Desk
  • Respond to all Service Desk calls in a timely fashion ensuring users and colleagues are aware of the status of any issues
  • Escalate any longer term problems as soon as possible
  • Set up desktop PCs including installation of Windows and Office applications and to provide support on these applications on a daily basis
  • Maintain software build images used for desktop PC setup
  • Maintain some aspects of the Windows domainActive Directory
  • Provide first line support for video conferencing systems and other AV equipment
  • Set up and support telecoms systems including IP phones and headsets
  • Set up and manage corporate mobile devices and MDM-controlled personal mobiles
  • Set up hardware and software for new users and orchestrate any desk moves
  • Liaise with external parties when required
  • Undertake maintenance of hardware including PCs, laptops, printers, scanners and servers, including weekend work from time to time
  • Undertake ad-hocprojects as requested by senior management
  • Support VIPs
  • Proactively suggest improvements to existing processes
